Jean Horton is an artist who paints primarily with oil on panel in a small, intimate format.
Jean was raised in New York and received her BFA in fine arts from Parsons School of Design before relocating to San Francisco where she earned her MFA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. As an undergraduate, Jean received a fellowship from Yale University and attended Yale at Norfolk's Summer School of Music and Art.
Jean's paintings have been exhibited at many venues including Center for the Arts at Yerba Buena in San Francisco, Sonoma Museum of Visual Arts, the Napa Valley Museum, and the International Center of Culture and Spirituality in Lucca, Italy. Jean resided in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1983 to 2010, and was a professor of painting and drawing in Sonoma County. Jean now lives in DeLand, Florida where she paints and sculpts full time.
